17 May Let’s Start at the Beginning
First of all, I just want to say thanks for being here! I’ve been so looking forward to sharing our work and lives with you. Since 2018, I have dreamt about designing beautiful, evergreen spaces, hence the name of our brand. I believe there is nothing more satisfying than coming home to a space that stands the test of time and the trials of life. Many experiences have brought me to this point; my upbringing, my husband, and of course, the Creator of it all. Had I lacked any of them, I don’t know who I would be.
As the daughter of an art major, my childhood was chockfull of crafting and creating. It also meant I watched my mother arrange and rearrange all the furniture in our home every month or so. At the time, it didn’t make sense, but now I have her keen eye for furniture arrangement and color.
You’ll often see me share about my husband, Sean. He’s a large part of Evergreen Design Co. though he’s usually behind the scenes. When we began dating in 2017, we learned we shared a love for home, design and DIY. Honestly, when I met Sean, I had no career path, no degree, no directive passions. One of my favorite things about him is his ability to tell it straight and call out the best in everyone. He pushed me to pursue a casual interest that I didn’t think would go anywhere. I quit my job, started consulting at a local design center, and got accepted to New York Institute of Art & Design within the next few months. It was a whirlwind but it was never clearer that this is what I’m meant to do.
At the end of the day, I owe it all to the one true Creator. I’ve been blessed to have grown up in a Bible-believing home and joined a wonderful church family, without which, I would be lost. Knowing that the Lord who formed the earth and everything in it changes the way I see the world itself. Every space has the opportunity to become one’s sanctuary, where you can meet with God face-to-face and rest in His glory. That is the reason for Evergreen Design Co. As I dwell in my own sanctuary in our little apartment, I am thankful that God has called me to be His vessel as I enhance the spaces and lives around me.
Three Facts I Think You Should Know About Me
1. I’m an enneagram 6 with a strong 5-wing and occasional 7-wing.
2. I have always been an early bird and I live for the quiet time first thing in the morning all by myself.
3. I want so badly to be a plant person but the only plants I can keep alive are spider plants. I guess it’s just not for me.
